Miramonti

Merano | Italy

There are very few places that quite literally make you feel like you’re on top of the world. Miramonti is one of them. Located high above Merano, the views are nothing short of breathtaking. Snow-capped peaks stretch into the distance, and no matter where you are in the hotel, the landscape feels ever-present.

The rooms are beautifully simple and incredibly comfortable, designed to let the view take centre stage. Waking up here feels surreal; the kind of stillness and beauty that makes you pause for a moment before starting your day.

One of the things I loved most about Miramonti is the variety of dining experiences. With three restaurants on site, there’s truly something for every mood. The Panorama Restaurant speaks for itself, offering sweeping views over Merano, while the Stube is where you go for a more traditional experience; a taste of South Tyrol, rich in flavour and local charm. And then there’s Klaus’ tiramisu… a spectacle in itself, and absolutely not to be missed.

A highlight of our stay was visiting their sister restaurant, Rotwand, high up in the mountains. You can ski there, but we chose to hike - equipped with snow spikes provided by the hotel, which made the whole experience feel like an adventure. Reaching the top and being welcomed with a spritz at a chic mountain restaurant was the perfect reward. It’s one of those moments you don’t forget.

The spa alone is reason enough to visit. Built into the mountainside, it feels completely immersed in nature. And then there’s the iconic rim-flow pool - floating at the edge, with reflections of the snow-covered peaks all around you. Pure bliss.

Miramonti is a perfect blend of design, nature, and experience. It’s truly everything you want from a winter escape in the Dolomites. A must-stay.
